Our Story
A Tale of Two Countries

Food is our common ground, a universal experience, once said Chef James Beard. This sentiment perfectly encapsulates the meeting of our Co-Founders⸺ Raja, an Indian food enthusiast, and Lan, a Vietnamese tofu artisan and an entreprenuer. Their paths crossed in the bustling streets of Hanoi, where Raja first tasted traditional Vietnamese tofu. The rich, delicate flavors were unlike anything he'd experienced back home in India—a land abundant in vegetarian cuisine yet unfamiliar with the authentic essence of tofu.
Over shared meals and heartfelt conversations, Raja and Lan realized a profound truth: despite India's reliance on paneer and dairy products, there was a significant gap when it came to soy-based foods.
There is no sincerer love than the love of food, wrote George Bernard Shaw, and it was this shared love that sparked an inspiring idea between them.
The duo envisioned bringing the staple of Vietnamese soy products to Indian soil, fostering a cultural bridge built on friendship and culinary exploration. Thus, Vinamis was born—a name symbolizing their journey:
Vina (Vietnam) + IN (India) + Amis (French for friends) = VINAMIS
Believing that Nothing brings people together like good food, Raja and Lan combined Lan's traditional tofu-making expertise with Raja's deep understanding of Indian tastes and the market.
Vinamis is more than just a brand; it's a fusion of cultures and a testament to the bonds formed over a shared table.
As they introduce authentic Vietnamese products—exclusively made in India— they invite you to join them in this flavorful journey. After all, Good food is all the sweeter when shared with good friends. Through Vinamis, Raja and Lan hope to enrich Indian cuisine, celebrating friendship and the universal language of food.
